Pi Network Prioritizes Compliance in Token Distribution Shift Away from Speculative Trading
Pi Network is revamping its token distribution strategy, adopting a compliance-first approach instead of pursuing traditional exchange listings. The project now distributes Pi tokens exclusively through KYB-verified partners including Banxa, TransFi, Onramp.Money, and Onramper, which support over 170 payment methods globally.
This strategic shift focuses on real-world utility, positioning PI as a blockchain designed for regulated commerce rather than speculative trading. Tokens are allocated to verified businesses and individuals who complete KYB or KYC checks, ensuring usage for in-app payments and peer-to-peer transactions.
Dr. Altcoin, a Pi Community advocate, described the MOVE as a defense against market manipulation. "Only KYB-approved businesses can transact on the Mainnet," he stated, emphasizing reduced vulnerability to whale-driven volatility and liquidity risks.
